Fed: Labor calls for international suicide terror convention

Labor has called for a global convention to help prosecute ABU BAKAR BASHIR .. after
the Indonesian Supreme Court overturned its conviction of the Muslim cleric.

BASHIR has been cleared of giving his blessing to the 2002 Bali bombings which killed
202 people .. including 88 Australians.

Opposition foreign affairs spokesman ROBERT MCCLELLAND says the overturning of the
guilty verdict is more evidence of the need for a stronger network of international anti-terrorism
provisions.

He says incitement to suicide terrorism could be made an international crime under
the convention.
