Blown away.

West Suffolk is still recovering from devastating gale force winds that ripped through the region causing absolute chaos.

Schools were closed, trees uprooted, buildings smashed and several floods were reported during last Thursday's storms, which saw wind speeds in excess of 80mph.

A Bury St Edmunds woman had a lucky escape when a tree crashed on to her car as she drove along Beyton Road, Thurston.

The woman suffered only a minor head injury when the 30ft tree smashed into her Peugeot 307.
