Qld: Easter messages of hope in adversity

Easter messages from Brisbane church leaders have focused on hope in the face of adversity.

Anglican Archbishop PHILIP ASPINALL says his message for Easter Sunday is one of optimism
and hope versus pain and struggle.

Archbishop ASPINALL says if people looked more closely at circumstances, they could
find an undercurrent of goodness, generosity and grace.

Catholic Archbishop JOHN BATHERSBY says his message on Sunday will say the love of
God can overcome all obstacles.

He says the love of God can solve the problems of the world, if people would only give it a go.

Both church leaders say Good Friday services today at Brisbane's St John's Anglican
Cathedral and St Stephen's were well attended but larger congregations are expected for
Sunday's Easter services.
